What it is
Definition & scope
10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) registration with The Campaign Registry (TCR) and the US carriers — handled end to end for NetSapiens® providers. We manage Brand and Campaign registration, vetting, throughput allocation, sample-message review, and ongoing compliance monitoring. Texting from US-based 10-digit numbers without proper 10DLC registration is now functionally broken — carrier filtering blocks unregistered traffic, deliverability collapses, and providers face per-message penalty fees. This service exists so you and your customers can text reliably without your team becoming TCR experts.
What's included
Scope of work covered.
Every item below is delivered as part of the engagement — no add-ons, no surprise line items.
Brand registration with TCR
Legal entity verification, EIN/tax ID submission, vertical classification, contact-of-record setup.
Brand vetting (where required)
Submission through Aegis or an alternative vetting partner — required for high-throughput tiers.
Per-use-case campaign registration
Customer care, marketing, account notifications, 2FA — each campaign gets its own TCR record.
Sample message review
Carrier-aligned opt-in language, opt-out language, and HELP keyword handling drafted to pass vetting on first submission.
Throughput tier negotiation
We register at the tier you actually need rather than over- or under-provisioning, and re-tier as your volume changes.
Ongoing compliance monitoring
TCR brand re-verification when required, campaign renewal handling, carrier suspension response if filtering hits.
NetSapiens®-side configuration
Number-to-campaign mapping, throughput limits, and messaging operations configured in your tenant.
What's not included
Out of scope.
We're upfront about boundaries so there are no surprises later. These items are either handled by you, a specialized partner, or scoped as a separate engagement.
- Brand and campaign fees from TCR and carriers (pass-through cost; we do not mark these up).
- Marketing copy or campaign content creation (you provide; we ensure compliance formatting).
- Customer-facing opt-in collection (the end-customer is responsible for opt-in mechanics).
- Toll-free messaging registration (separate process — we can scope this separately).

Step 4
NetSapiens® configuration
Number-to-campaign mapping configured in your tenant. Throughput limits aligned with registered tier. Compliance monitoring activated.
Service-level agreement
What we commit to.
Initial brand registration submitted within 24 hours of receiving complete legal entity information. Brand vetting return times depend on Aegis (typically 5–10 business days). Campaign registrations submitted within 48 hours of receiving content. Ongoing compliance monitoring runs continuously — when TCR or a carrier flags an issue, we respond within the same 15-minute critical SLA for service-affecting filtering, or 4-hour SLA for non-affecting compliance updates. Renewal and re-verification windows are tracked automatically; we file before deadlines so registrations do not lapse.
FAQ
Common questions about 10dlc registration & compliance service.
Do we need separate campaigns for every customer?
Sometimes. Brand registration is per legal entity, but campaign registration is per use case. If 50 of your customers all run 'customer care' messaging with similar templates, that can be one campaign for the operator/reseller. Customer-specific campaigns are required when the message content is distinct.
What if our throughput tier is wrong?
We monitor your actual sending rate against your registered tier and recommend changes before you hit filtering. Upgrading tier (T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon each have their own) takes 3–7 days for the new tier to activate.
How does carrier filtering actually work?
Once your campaign is registered and active with TCR, carriers query TCR for your registration when traffic from your numbers hits their network. Unregistered or mis-registered traffic is filtered — sometimes silently, so the receiver never gets the message. Properly registered traffic flows at your tier throughput.
What does this cost?
TCR brand: about $4 one-time. Brand vetting: about $40 one-time. Each campaign: about $10/month. Carrier per-message fees vary by tier. Our service fee covers registration and ongoing management; pass-through fees are at cost.
Our previous campaigns were rejected — can you re-submit?
Yes. Most rejections come from campaign content that does not match the use case, missing opt-out language, or sample messages that look like spam. We re-draft and re-submit; the first round of revisions is no-charge.
Does this cover toll-free messaging or short codes?
10DLC specifically covers 10-digit long-code SMS/MMS from regular phone numbers in the US and Canada. Toll-free messaging (8XX numbers) has a separate verification process via the toll-free aggregator. Short codes are a different registration process entirely. We can scope these separately if needed.
